University of Oxfordポスドク募集

A postdoc position is available in the lab of Bungo Akiyoshi at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Oxford.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual with Ph.D. training in cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics and/or structural biology to study the function of unconventional kinetochore proteins in Trypanosoma brucei. We recently identified 19 uncharacterized kinetochore proteins (named KKT1–19) in Trypanosoma brucei and discovered that they constitute unconventional kinetochores specific to kinetoplastids, a group of evolutionarily distant eukaryotes (Akiyoshi and Gull, Cell 2014). We are currently characterizing these KKT proteins using various techniques including bioinformatics, super-resolution microscopy, biochemistry, biophysics, and structural biology.

This full-time post is funded by the Wellcome Trust and Royal Society for up to two years in the first instance. This position is graded on the University's Grade 7 scale, for which the salary range is £30,434 -£37,394 per annum.
