Scripps Research Institute-Scripps Florida Postdoctoral Position

Post Doctoral Position in Molecular and Cellular Basis
of Long-Term Memory Storage

A postdoctoral position is immediately available for a motivated individual to join a dynamic multidisciplinary research team to study the neurobiological basis of memory storage and Alzheimer’s disease in the Puthanveettil Laboratory (www.scripps.edu/puthanveettil) at The Scripps Research Institute-Scripps Florida.

Preferred candidates should have a Ph.D. and be able to work interactively in a highly collaborative and interactive research environment. Experience with preparing primary neuronal cultures, confocal and live cell imaging, and basic molecular biology methodologies is required. Competitive candidates will have one or more first-author manuscripts accepted in internationally recognized, peer-reviewed journals.

There will be ample opportunities available for developing new skills, interacting with other departments at Scripps Florida and with our neighboring institutions, the Max Planck Florida Institute and Florida Atlantic University. Within Scripps Florida, the Puthanveettil Laboratory collaborates extensively with both the Department of Metabolism and Aging and the Department of Molecular Therapeutics.

The Scripps Florida Department of Neuroscience has state of the art facilities for imaging, behavior, genomics and biochemistry. The infrastructure at Scripps Florida includes unique chemical, genomic, proteomic, informatics, and high-throughput screening tools for the discovery of novel biomolecules.

Interested applicants should submit a Curriculum Vitae, a brief description of prior research experience, scientific interests, and contact information for three references as a single PDF file to sputhanv@scripps.edu.
