University of Iowa Postdoctoral Position

Applications are now being accepted for the Iowa Muscular Dystrophy Cooperative Research Center Postdoctoral Fellowship in my laboratory. Applicants should have a Ph.D. with a strong basic science background in neuromuscular physiology, or an M.D. with a clinical background in neuromuscular disease.
The Iowa Wellstone Center is particularly interested in training the next generation of scientists in translational research on muscular dystrophy. Typically, a fellow in this position does full-time research in my laboratory, and also has the opportunity to observe patient care in the muscular dystrophy clinic, under the supervision of pediatric neurologist Dr. Katherine Mathews. Fellows present their findings at lab meetings and monthly Neuropathology Disease Conferences. In addition, they attend the annual, face-to-face Wellstone meeting with scientists and physicians across the country who are supported by Wellstone Center Grants.

The University of Iowa Wellstone Center offers outstanding state-of-the-art facilities to conduct molecular biology and cellular biology studies. Fellows will receive a competitive starting salary with excellent benefits for at least three years.

For prompt consideration send or email letter of application, curriculum vitae, and names of three references to:
