Burnham Institute for Medical Research Postdoc募集

Postdoctoral Associate position is available to study epigenetic gene regulation of non-coding RNA (ncRNA) in normal skin and skin cancer melanoma. We have previously shown that malignant melanoma, caused by abnormal cell division of melanocytes in human skin, is associated with irregular patterns of microRNA (miRNA) gene expression in the constituent cells. Several putative tumor suppressors of miRNA origin have been identified in our laboratory and we will characterize these through in-vitro and in-vivo functional genomics studies. The prospective candidate will continue this study at the new facility of The Burnham Institute in Orlando, Florida.

Burnham Institute for Medical Research at Lake Nona (Orlando) is an independent, not-for-profit biomedical research institution dedicated to advancing the frontiers of scientific knowledge in life sciences and medicine, and providing the foundation for tomorrow’s innovative therapies. Burnham is building 175,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for over 300 faculty and staff. The Lake Nona/Orlando site will feature several outstanding technology cores, and faculty will undertake discovery research in several fields, including launching a new center devoted to diabetes & obesity research.

Ph.D. and/or M.D. Candidate must have a strong background in at least one of the following areas: cell biology, molecular biology, and/or transcriptional/post-transcriptional gene regulation/bioinformatics.
