My laboratory is looking for a responsible, highly motivated post-doctor to study issues related to Alzheimer’s disease and Rett syndrome. We will consider Ph.D. or M.D., who has experience in molecular biology and cell biology, preferably with experience in mouse models, neural cultures, or electrophysiology. Candidates will be invited for interview.

(Medical Investigation of Neurodevelopmental Disorders) Institute (http://www.ucdmc.ucdavis.edu/mindinstitute/ )and the Alzheimer’s Disease Center (http://alzheimer.ucdavis.edu/) at University of California Davis. Arkansas State University ポスドク募集

The Zhou laboratory in the Arkansas Biosciences Institute (http://abi.astate.edu) at Arkansas State University seeks a post-doctoral Research Associate to conduct cancer-related life/biomedical science research. Arkansas Biosciences Institute is a State-of-Art facility which opened the door in 2005. The ABI and the lab house excellent equipment and facility for the research in the field.

Our main goal is to understand how cell signaling system regulates the actin cytoskeleton/cell motility. We focus on a number of proteins involved in cell growth and survival pathways which also regulate the cytoskeleton/cell motility, by using mostly cultured mammalian cell systems combined with approaches including molecular biology, cellular biology and biochemistry. We are also interested in using transgenic mouse models to study biological functions of the proteins as well as those under pathological conditions. Relevant publications: Mol. Cell. Biol. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in molecular/cellular biology or closely-related life/biomedical science field. The ideal candidate would be a motivated scientist with a strong background in molecular biology (on the DNA and protein levels) and expertise on cell culture and microscopy. Solid background in signal transduction is preferred and knowledge/experience working with transgenic mice is considered a plus.

Competitive salary (comparable to that in the NIH guideline) will be provided. The city is about 1 hour driving from Memphis, TN. The Principal Investigator received his Ph.D. degree from Japan and also speaks Japanese language.

Cutting edge projects focusing on the innate immune mechanisms leading to adaptive immunity. These projects include novel pathways that regulate macrophages, and T cells, macrophage biology linked to autoimmune disease, determining the unique and shared role of the principle macrophage developmental molecules in immune mediated inflammation, and the power of the programmed death pathway in regulating tissue injury. Furthermore, studies focus on tissue regenerative pathways mediated by resident cells and macrophages, and inflammation that fails to resolve. Unique transgenic strains and knockout mice with reporter genes have been constructed on autoimmune susceptible strains for these projects. These projects dissect the basic mechanisms of autoimmune disease (kidney, skin, heart) and have human translational components.

An active research lab in the Georgia Health Science University (former Medical College of Georgia) Cancer Center is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual at the postdoctoral level to join a lab dedicated to conducting research aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance and mechanisms of transformation by oncogene in lung cancer. Experience with contemporary molecular biology techniques, including tissue culture, manipulations of nucleic acids and protein, PCR, western blotting, and cellular transfection is required and experience with animal experiment is a plus.
The successful candidate will work in a team environment. Specific responsibilities include planning, designing, completing and troubleshooting experiments. The candidate will be expected to invent and adapt experimental methods, and to prepare technical summaries for use in proposals, protocols, presentations at internal and national meetings, and publication of research papers. The candidate will be expected to make and record detailed observations, and maintain a complete and thorough laboratory notebook. Strong analytical skills are required, as well as the ability to interpret and summarize complex scientific data. Strong communication skills along with excellent organizational skills are essential. A competitive salary with an excellent compensation and benefits package will be provided. The position is available for one year, with the possibility of extending the appointment based upon performance. A Ph.D. degree in the field of molecular biology/cell biology, cancer research, or a related field is required. Graduation within three years is preferred.
