Case Western Reserve University Postdoc募集

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Department of Pharmacology in the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Currently, the laboratory is funded by NIH and a private foundation that focuses on Usher Syndrome. Our research is focused on retinal degenerative disorders. With the goal of elucidating the disease mechanisms, we study the process of photoreceptor morphogenesis and maintenance in vertebrate animals. Our laboratory pioneers real-time imaging of proteins and small molecules within the retina, and is equipped with a state of the art confocal/two-photon microscope. Also, our research heavily depends on the cell culture system to biochemically study the components required for photoreceptor morphogenesis/maintenance.

The applicant is expected to be highly independent and be capable of designing experiments and conducting hypothesis based research projects. The candidate should have a strong background in cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry. Knowledge of fluorescence microscopy is favorable, although not necessary. Salary will be commensurate with experience and will adhere to current NIH guidelines.
Please submit your CV, brief statement of research interest, and contact information for three references via E-mail to Dr. Yoshikazu Imanishi (yxi19@case.edu).
