Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute

Post‐Doctoral Fellow in the Infectious & Inflammatory Disease Center, Sanford‐Burnham Institute for Medical Research, La Jolla, CA, Immediate Opening(s) in the laboratory of Dr. Sumit K. Chanda for scientists with a background in one or more of the following areas:
Molecular Virology (HIV, Influenza & other RNA Viruses) & Innate Immunology/Pattern Recognition Receptor Responses.

Projects will involve employing systems‐based technologies to establish a global understanding of host‐pathogen interactions that regulate cellular responses to viralinfection, and inhibit viral replication. Studies will integrate both large‐scale technologies (RNAi, AP‐MS, NGen seq, etc.), and more traditional cell & molecular biology and biochemistry‐based approaches. A background in systems‐ or computational biology is not essential. Positions are supported by NIH funding.

Requirements: We are seeking highly motivated and collaborative applicants with an MD, PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree, and 0‐2 years of post‐doctoral training. Prospective applications should have a made significant contributions to their area of study as evidenced by a strong publication record in high impact journals. Please visit http://www.chandalab.org for more information.
