A postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Dr. Joseph C. Glorioso (Dept of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, PA, USA)

The Glorioso Lab team carries out studies to apply gene therapy to the treatment of diseases of the nervous system that include chronic pain and brain tumors. Dr. Glorioso is offering an exciting opportunity for a post-doctoral fellow to develop treatments for glioma using advanced oncolytic HSV vectors. Applicants interested in the field of immuno-oncology would be most appropriate. However, students experienced in molecular virology and animal models of disease are also welcome. The lab is well supported by NIH grants for next 5 years. This position is available immediately. 　Dr. Joseph C. Glorioso はヘルペスウイルスを用いた遺伝子治療研究では第一人者として知られており、これまでに数多くの優れた業績を上げてきました。 Glorioso研究室ではこれまでに様々なウイルスベクターを開発しており、これらを（１）遺伝子治療（２）がん治療（３）幹細胞研究への応用を目標としています。 今回の新規のプロジェクトでは、新しいがん治療用ウイルスベクターの開発に従事する研究者を探しています。
　University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine は全米有数の研究施設で研究者だけでも約１万人が在籍し，ピッツバーグ大学 は学部生約27,000人、大学院生約17,000人を抱える大型総合大学であり、USニューズ&ワールド・レポートの大学ランキングでは全米の州立大学の中で上位20位以内に入っています。またピッツバーグ大学医療センター（UPMC）は、全米で最も優れた病院の1つに数えられており、ライフサイエンス研究を行うには大変恵まれた環境です。
