研究内容
細胞分裂がくりかえされる際、常に細胞が同じ染色体セットを維持するためには、細胞分裂に先立って、姉妹染色分体を娘細胞に正確に分配するメカニズムが必要です。このメカニズムの破たんは、癌や先天性疾患など、様々な病気の原因になると考えられています。本研究室では、モデル生物として出芽酵母を用い、酵母からヒトにいたるまで保存された、染色分体分配を制御する基本的なメカニズムを研究しています。特に、高解像度蛍光顕微鏡による染色体動態のリアルタイム解析、質量分析器によるタンパク質リン酸化の解析に力を入れています。酵母を扱った経験の有無は問いません。この分野に興味のある、意欲あるポスドク研究者を募集します。

Dr. Yongsheng Shi in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, UC Irvine School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a post-doctoral position to study mammalian mRNA polyadenylation and its regulation at the systems level. The lab uses biochemical and proteomic approaches to analyze the molecular mechanisms of mRNA cleavage/polyadenylation (Shi et al., (2009) Molecular Cell 33:365-76). They have also developed genomic tools, including high-throughput sequencing-based methods, for studying alternative polyadenylation in stem cell differentiation and cancer development. Postdoctoral positions are available to study the mechanism of action of neurotrophic factors in the development, maintenance and diseases of the nervous system. The laboratory employs a variety of approaches for these studies including cell biology, protein purification, primary neuronal cultures in a compartmentalized and microfluidic culture systems, proteomics, and the generation and analysis of transgenic/knockout mice. Significant investments have been made in the area of live-cell imaging, and the laboratory has its own dedicated fully-motorized, epifluorescence incubated system as well as a resonance and conventional scanning confocal microscope for extremely rapid real-time imaging of neurons. Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Postdoc募集

A postdoctoral position is available at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). The research project is focused on the molecular mechanisms that regulate the generation of neuronal diversity in the embryonic and adult mouse telencephalon. This project will involve a substantial amount of mouse genetics work combined with advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques. A background in neurobiology and mouse genetics is an important qualification, but MD and/or PhD scientists trained in any fields of molecular and cellular biology are welcome to apply.

The scientific community at CCHMC is highly interactive, providing many opportunities for collaborations. In particular, the Division of Developmental Biology is comprised of thirty-three faculty members who cover broad aspects of developmental biology and related biomedical research areas, including organogenesis, fundamental cellular and molecular biology, stem cells, and bioinformatics. Our lab is housed in a research building with state-of-the-art facilities, which was opened in 2008.

Postdoctoral Position Available

A NIH funded postdoctoral position is available immediately to study the molecular mechanism of myeloproliferative neoplasms and leukemia. The successful candidate will perform in vivo studies using knock-out and knock-in mice in addition to cell culture, flow cytometric and biochemical studies. [Please see some of our recent publications- Blood (2010) 115:3589-3597; Curr Opin Genet Dev (2007) 17:23-30; Cancer Cell (2005) 7:179-191; Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA. (2004) 101:3130-3135; Nat. Med. (2004) 10:849-857; Cancer Cell (2002) 1:479-492]. Recently, the lab has generated a novel knock-in mouse model of myeloproliferative neoplasms. Several projects involving this novel mouse model are currently available. The lab is also interested in identification, characterization and targeting of cancer stem cells in myeloproliferative neoplasms.

The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. within last 3 years in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or Molecular Genetics with keen interest in science and strong research background. Most recent PhDs are preferred. Experience with flow cytometry and animal studies would be very helpful.  Dr.James Hsieh Labで新たに日本人ポスドク(複数名)を募集しています。現在、ラボはWashington University in St.Louisにありますが、今年中にニューヨークにあるスローン-ケタリング記念がんセンターに移動、拡充されます。
 研究分野は表向きは分子腫瘍学が中心となっていますが、臨床に近い内容(白血病モデルから各種固形腫瘍の病態病理など)、基礎生物学的な内容(神経発生、精子形成、細胞周期、ボディープラン、幹細胞生物学など)、共同研究として細胞死全般(奥さんのDr.Emily Chengの研究分野)まで幅広く展開しており、主に培養細胞と各種KOマウス、KIマウスを研究材料としています。研究設備などは最新のものが揃っています。研究室としては別になりますが研究体制としてDr.Emily Chengグループと融合しており、研究設備、試薬、Journal Club、Research Seminarなどは共有されています。現在、日本人は学生が一人在籍しており、Dr.Chengグループにポスドクが今年中に一人参加するはずです。

The Department of Traumatology at the University of Newcastle and John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle, Australia seeks a research associate/PhD candidate. The position is available from 2011 to investigate trauma related research.

The candidate will utilize an established animal model to investigate the complexity of a haemorrhagic shock/damage control scenario. The candidate will independently perform in vivo experiments on ischemia and reperfusion, femur fracture and subsequent fixation etc. It includes the capability to recover and manage the animals for long-term survival up to 10 weeks. If necessary, required techniques may be learned from current researchers and other members from the same institution. Furthermore, an ideal candidate can demonstrate the ability and experiences for the immunological and histological analyses (Histological technicians are available).
The candidate will implement new technologies and organize the laboratory equipment, proper funding and staff resources to achieve research objectives.

Applicants must have genuine motivation, communications skills, knowledge of scientific approach and methodologies, and ability to design and coordinate scientific research projects.
Familiarity with an animal model strongly preferred and knowledge of current technological trends is also required. Previous laboratory experience with surgical skills, molecular immunology and histology methods are also desirable.

A position has become available for a Post-doctoral Research Fellow
in the Department of Pharmacology, at Baylor College of Medicine in
Houston. The focus of our work is on structural and biochemical
characterization of Serine/Threonine protein kinases. The successful
candidate will be involved in the complete process of the project,
solving the structure of proteins, as well as biochemically
characterizing them.

Crystallographers in or near Texas are encouraged to apply to join our lab. The ideal applicant will have a PhD in a biological science, or the equivalent in professional qualifications
and experience, and experience in molecular cloning, protein

Applicants should have a PhD in biological sciences and be proficient in molecular biology techniques. Background in mouse embryology or developmental biology is preferred.

マウスを主な材料とし、 発生、癌、生殖、ホルモン作用を研究しています。採用された方には、ノックアウト/マウスを用いた上皮分化の研究に従事していただく予定です。研究内容の詳細は、栗田まで直接お問い合わせ下さい。

[採用人数]:1-2 名, 給与等はNIH及びNorthwestern Universityの規定に従います。
[応募条件]: 2011年4月までに着任可能で、関連分野での博士課程を修了もしくは修了見込みの方。 発生、生殖、細胞分化もしくは癌の研究に興味を持ち、英語でのコミニュケーションが可能な方。ノックアウトマウス作成・解析の経験者を優先いたします。
